does it get hot atall? im thinking it couls be low/no water. there should be a warning pop up when this happens unless theres a faulty sensor

Doubt it has anything to do with your EGR. Something do to with fuelling? Pump on way out?

Fuel pump relay  :undecided:

Fuel pump relay  :undecided:

Intermittent fuel pump relay issues, hence it didn't show up as an error?

Perhaps just all your fuses and relays/wiring etc?  :undecided:

Re reading your original post it could be the sensor you mentioned. I assume you wait for the car to cool down a little before it will attempt to start?

hi yes i wait for car to cool down takes a couple of minutes then starts again and drives fine ive fitted a crank sensor today as a few people suggested this could be the issue sometimes it doesnt show on the diagnostics

Do you get any juddering or misfiring??

Another possible culprit could be the injector wiring loom   :undecided:

Literally no idea. Do you have access to another car that you could try the 109 relay from? What is that relay exactly?

i dont think the car will run if the relY has had it as it controls a few major things. get it compression tested see if that throws up and problems

As above it sounds like the 109 relay is on the way out. When the car has been running for a while the contacts in the relay get hot and it causes the soldered points to fail. I replaced mine but I got a genuine vw one from the dealers. It cost £15 I think.

There is loads of duplicate ones on eBay which are sh!te and for the extra tenner I would get oem.

Put in relay (109) at the weekend drove fine all weekend and monday then today its gone from cut out once to six times in one day put it back on the vagcom and it came back with ABS speed sensor n/s/f but i wouldnt think that would do it .

The ABS fault will be something seperate. I can only think it might be a fuel pump issue as previously mentioned. The pump isn't connected to the vagcom so it wont show up.

I think the fuel pump relay is 409. You could try changing that first and see how you get on.

It could also be a faulty ignition switch.

Glad you now know what it is. A new fuel pump for my pd150 according to euro car parts is 80 quid. I have never changed one but I imagine there is thread out there which will tell you how its done.
