Ok since we have been having bad weather it has been bugging me that I have a dirty area in the corner of my windscreen where the wiper do not touch.
On my early mk2 jetta the wipers are the wrong way round for a right hand drive car.
They are on the left hand drive side.
Just want to no if this is normal for early mk2 golfs and jettas and why they are like it.
As you can see in the pic the passenger gets a nice full clean area and I get the dirty top corner so I'm constantly having to duck to see out.

Mines a type 19, 1986 gti 8v and mine are the same, can't say it bothers me as I'm normally singing along to Craig David
-
so is mine a TYP19 then? its not a gti but a 1985 1.6 carb CL
-
in the winter i fit a longer wiper on the driver's side. it looks sh!t but clears more of the screen

Type19 is determined by the chassis number (look on VIN plate) wvwzzz19-x-xxnnnnnn where as later models will be wvwzzz1G-x-xxnnnnnn
someone decided to make their early mk2 golf sound more scene by declaring it a Type 19. its like referring to the later chassis model as a Type 1G
i.e. its a load of bóllocks.
