I've been looking to install HIDs in my Golf GT TDi. The below are my options:
1) Install a HID kit in my current reflector lights. But that will screw up the beam pattern.
2) By the Hella Xenon look lights and install a HID kit with that. What is the beam pattern for these and would it dazzle on coming drivers?
3) Spend a LOT load of money on purchasing OEM Xenon headlights (and other parts) and do a countless hours of work to get them up and running.
4) Or purchase these http://shopping.boraparts.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_28_133_154&products_id=237 which are supposed to be OEM and already have the necessary parts installed and are apparently "plug and play". Has anyone tried these?
I reckon option 2 is my best option, but I'm not sure what the beam pattern is like with the hid kit installed nor do I know if the beam will dazzle oncoming traffic. I've read up that a few people from the US have tried this method but their regulations are different from ours.
My next choice would be option 4; it comes to approx £650-£700 but if those lights are actually OEM Xenons which are a straight plug and play then I think I can afford to proceed with this.
Thanks

Option 3
Depending on your model all you will need is the lights and conversion loom

How easy are they to install?

Depends how handy you are with a torx bit set
Front bumper has to come off to get the lights out. On mine (Audi A3) I had to remove the wipers and scuttle panel as I had to run wires into the cabin.
Not up to speed on the Golf's setup I'm afraid

I found some OEM xenons for £340 which come with ballasts, bulbs etc however the right side indicator holder needs repairing. How much would this cost to repair and is it worth going for this?
