ok maybe someone in here can help me.
thinking of getting my car resprayed a different colour
after i tell the dvla, does there records update the insurance companies or do i have to ring up the insurance company?
if i have to ring them and tell them will it make my insurance go up as in my mind theres no difference between me driving a silver golf and a white golf?

You need to disclose the colour change to the insurers. It will depend on your insurer if there is any cost implication, it is unlikely a specialist insurer would charge for this.
