Title: Well this looks like fun
Post by: boyceUK on 08 November 2012, 20:41
Hello all,

I'm (soon to be) the owner of my very first GTi. So as I'm sure to be frequenting these forms more from now on thought I would start off by introducing myself and my pride and joy (collection on sunday).

DSG, sat nav, 53k miles, 56 plate

I won the eBay auction at £8100, which seems like a fair price.

The side skirts, wheels and tints are not to my taste, but they are all easy things to fix.
Does anyone know what make those side skirts are? Seems like a good opportunity to replace them with original colour coded ones.

Do you recognise those alloys? Are they even made by VW? Easy to swap them for some 18" Monzas?

cheers, and HELLO!

Well this didnt happen. It started taking a nose dive when having driven most of the 3 hours journey I get a phone call saying he's had to take his wife to hospital but it was parked at a friends hotel who would sort it all out.

Turns out he'd neglected to mention the fact it was a grey import, had a broken reversing camera sticking 4inches out of the middle of the boot and when he said FSH, he obviously just forgot about the DSG and cam belt services.

so the search went on...

Hate the numptys that think they can put a so called "we'll looked after car" up for sale and think the person coming to buy it will think " oh well are buy it anyway"...Grrrrr! There are some real tools out there...

Good luck with the search pal...
