I've bought tiles to do our bathroom and have a bit of a quandary which I'm hoping someone can help out with.
We have two typs of tiles. 10x20cm and 10x10cm tiles. The idea being to work out some random kinda pattern as we go along.
Originally I worked out that obviously two 10x10cm tiles is the same as one 10x20cm tile. Then I realised it isn't. There's a 2mm spacer to go between before it get grouted later on. So when we use two 10x10cm tiles, it'll actually be 20.2cm wide. Over the course of an entire wall that's really going to be noticeable. The lines won't run true down the wall.
Has anyone done some tiling and have a solution?

Factor in the run out on your walls and the variation between tile size through the pack and pack to pack and you have a fecking nightmare

Simple Answer - take one kind back - they ain't every going to match

Yea!! They will be a bastard!! Due to having grout lines 2mm - 10x10 = 22mm

Carefully cut 10cm off the 10x20's they will then fit, job sorted

Feature wall. Lay the 10x20 horazontle done

smash them all up then stick all the bits to the wall in a mosaic (spelling) like type thingy

That'd look sh!t, you'd see the sharp edges rather than the soft glazed edges of a tile that's actually that size.

I took the coloured ones back and am just going to do the entire wall in white
