this has never been a problem in the 6months ive owned the car, however it come to my attention that the whole time i had no reverse lights.
whilst trying to fix this problem i noticed the wire which goes onto the switch on the gearbox had been CUT this had not broken been cut on purpose what this have anything to do with the light being on because only started coming on since i fixed the reverse lights cheers all

if a brake light is out on my brothers passat same thing happens :smiley:

There are 2 wires that come from the alternator that go to a plug at the front of a gear box, If these are damaged
it can cause the TC light to come on after 5 or 10 miles,
I read an article on vortex about it.
Get the car scanned

Wont an ABS sensor (when broke) throw a traction light up?

Yes, It can do.

Can be many possibilities get the car scanned!

Faulty MAF also throws traction control light up!
