Why did you take it apart? Was it not working?

They tend to be quite sensitive things, and don't take a lot to break. Put it back together, see if it is still working ok, if not get another one but make sure it is a genuine one from VW. I replaced mine with a Bosch one from GSF and it lasted 8 months before breaking

Agree with the above, I bought 2 bosch mafs from eurocarparts and blew both with a couple of months.
Although they are labelled 'Bosch' in genuine box's, they are not new but reconditioned and don't last.

yes mate mines had 2 airflow meters in last 9 month or so and now its gone again i think genuine parts always from now on, same as for any other sensors such as coolant temp sensors always fit genuine

If you can figure out how to repair or recondition the sensor you have removed
then you wont need to worry about shelling out for genuine parts.

You will be to busy selling them to us lot

At a reduced rate

Expect the EuroCarParts Maf to go within a month or 2.
They are not new items, they are recondition. Only the dealer ones seem to last

My Bosch one from GSF had a 12 month warranty and as I said before it failed after 8 months. I'd only ever buy a genuine VW MAF.
