my friend and i was wondering if you can put a mk5 or mk6 r32/ r engine block into a mk4 r32??
as a straight ish conversion??
-
Why do you want to mate? Doubt it because I'm sure the mk5 r32 is a fsi engine which means your gonna have to change wiring and alsorts of stuff I don't see why you would want to though? And they didn't so a mk6 with a vr6 engine mate

The MK4 & Mk5 R32's have the same blocks/head/cams, the difference is in the ECU, wiring loom, plugs, injectors, fuel rail etc.
I believe it is possible to use MK4 ecu/loom etc with a Mk5 block, but I'm not 100% about that.
Although it's possible I don't there is much point in it....power is pretty much the same for both engines, a lot of work for little gain.
The Mk6 R engine will be harder to fit and a damn sight more expensive, not got a clue what's involved in that tbh.

best stickin a bam engine in and a bigger turbo prob cost you the same an will see good power from that  but anthing can be done if you have the cash, saw a mk2 golf with a passat r36 in it last week
-
as barry says anything is possible if you have money and time
but my first option would be a bam lump with a hybrid turbo then theres plenty of power with a few other supporting mods

Why not keep your engine and fit a k04 etc.
-
Just take you engine out and fit in a mk2/mk3

You're kidding right?!

Most things are possible. Its mainly a question of time and money. Also helps if you got some skills as that will help keep the cost down!
Bloke on ukmkivs has fitted the 2.0 GTI ED30 engine to his MK4 but its a very awkward conversion as all the electrics etc are different
Just take you engine out and fit in a mk2/mk3
Every man and his dog has done that

They're swapping it into a MK4 R32 so fitting a KO4 wouldn't be easy
