225 is quite frankly laughable tbh...
Think 180hp and you won't go far wrong!
-
Yes, 180 bhp looks to be pretty near the mark, If the diesel version of the new Seat Leon FR is anything to go by. It's to be available with 2 different levels of power output; 148 and 184 bhp, so I'd expect the mk7 GTD to have similar power to the 184 bhp unit.

Yes, currently the TDi is at 150 hp, so GTD should be around the 180-190 mark
Its a shame that VW fall behind in performance, with regards to all models and options. Aren't VW the main/parent company...?

190 is a great starting point
I'll have a 150 GT arriving in the new year as a works mule

Doc
What would you reckon a 190 could get mapped to?

No idea mate, But based on the transporter 2.0 TDI bi-turbo I'd guess around 30-35 BHP and 60 lbft of torque but I'd reserve judgment untill I've had a mess with one

Cheers
Hmmm - that's 220-225 - reasonable for a soot chucker

At a guess if the Lean 2.0 TDI FR is 181bhp it will be 181bhp. http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/seat/leon/61275/seat-leon-20-tdi-fr (http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/seat/leon/61275/seat-leon-20-tdi-fr)

Autobild.de have test driven the new GTD and say it will have 184 hp. Lighter, faster and 700+(?) miles to the tank. Tempting!
If they put the new electric bi-turbo they are currently developing in the 2.0l diesel, I'm sure 225 hp would be possible. It would be silly to put it into a FWD GTD. All that diesel torque would just destroy tyres. Maybe a 4WD Golf R diesel  Though that would likely piss off a lot of GTi owners.
