will b gettin the 8v serviced agen, should i stick with standard NGK spark plugs, or get platinum ? do they even fit in the 8v ? will it make any difference ?
-
Standard stuff mate.
Turbos benefit from plugs but a 2.0 8v won't
Some people say they do, but replacing old spark plugs with new ones is a improvement.
-
hmm i seee, i need rear carriers, mine are rusted cant change the rear brake discs, where can i get some from ?
-
Classified or ebay
-
wont they be the same if there off an old mk3 ?
-
No
Mine are mint
-
il have to find some then... arghhh
-
Why would you need new carriers?
So what if they are rusted? Do you mean bolts?
Carriers rusted = bench grinder on the wire brush side.
-
the bolts, they need grinding off... so il need the carrier and the bolts....
-
Why carrier?
Just need new bolts surely. Irwin extractors will sort it. Or do you mean calliper bolts?

Having gone from a Lupo GTi to a MK3 Golf 8v I would recommend 1 thing if you want your MK3 to handle well......SELL IT and buy something else before you go spending loads of cash 'putting it right'
However if you want something reasonably nippy, reliable and with a certain amount of retro cool then keep your MK3 but having owned plenty of performance cars (M3s etc) I would say that handling was probably rthe MK3's weakest point.....yeah it's comfy but don't kid yourself that it's any good
