Title: PD130 box of tricks on fuel sensor
Post by: Dolly on 30 October 2012, 17:06
just sorted my 130PD i brought from a mate for £500.  (mk4 ibiza ASZ)

running VAGCOM 11.11.4 to check injector quantities as its not very smooth i now think its DMF..

But i noticed the fuel temperature to be 137 Degrees!  so i looked into it and theres a little box plugged into the sensor and then the proper plug connected to this.

its looks like some kind of ebay special, i have removed it and now it reads 30 degrees which is better.

Any come across this before and what would of been the benefits?

Sounds like a dirty way of tricking the engine to overfuel, as diesel can be used to cool down the chamber, so if it is reading that the temperature is high it might dump a bit more in to try and cool it down.

Only problem then is that over time the injectors will lacquer up and will need replacing... along with other items being affected long term.

Do not buy this sh!t and fit it to your car, it seems to be running better without it and it should increase mpg

I pulled one of these off a customer's car recently because it was causing problems, then remapped it properly. I'm fortunate enough to have a dyno to play with so i'll let the pictures do the talking. The car was a 110 tdi
