It's a carb, you plank!  It doesn't have an airflow meter!

The problem is likely to be a sticking waxstat on the side of the Pierburg carb, which is part of the automatic choke system.

The only thing you're missing is part of the intake system hoses, which switch between cold air or air warmed up from over the top of the the exhaust manifold.

waxastat-  is a hatefull littel thing thats bolted on the side of the carb,  it brings it on and off choke according to coolant temp.  its proably broken or need resetting if your lucky.  if your unlucky the o ring between manifold and head has furred up and stoped coolant flowing  its cheep but a twerp to change

Thanks for the info, how will I know if the wax stat is actually broken? Or the o ring?

waxastat body won't get hot if its the o ring,  if it dose get hot its likely the wax stat itself needs replaceing or resetting
