Title: Licence points and convictions removals

hi all, i have a few sets of points and convictions that i need removing from my paper part as theyve now expired. do i just send it to dvla and they do the rest or do u put in a letter or something? thanks. dan

just send it back to dvla they will sort it not sure if there is a fee though  :smiley:

I have points on mine from donkeys ago...It doesn't actually matter that they are on there does it? They won't stand for anything as they expired right?

I'm not going to pay money to remove something that doesn't need removing  :huh:

I think it's conviction are alive for three years, remain on a licence for five and after that they are totally spent.

That's what I was just checking...They can stay on my license for ever then. Not paying for a new one.

Points last for 4 years in the eyes of the police, 5 years for insurance purposes. Soon as that 5 years is up dvla will remove them.

change of address once points are spent and they come off  :wink:

i moved a lot over my points spent periods  :laugh:

Court put 12 on my license, has killed me for last 5 years, but now I'm free!!

I think it varies depending on what you got the points for

4 years for speeding
11 years for drink driving

I had 3 points on my licence from speeding (34mph in a 30 zone, ffs), but they came off automatically when I renewed my licence. So I didn't pay a fee to have them removed.
You guys do know that you have to renew your photo licence every 10yrs don't you?
