Title: 2002 vw caddy 1.9 tdi
Post by: ANTSINPANTS on 27 October 2012, 13:52
Hi all i have a 02 caddy 1.9 tdi and the other day it just stopped running. I've done a little investigating and it seems like its not getting any diesel to the high pressure pump. I found a common problem with them is the diesel return valve so ive replaced that just incase and the fuel filter but no joy and ive also found out that they dont have a low pressure fuel pump. does any body have any ideas what could be the problem, or how the high pressure pump is fed if there is no low pressure pump? any help would much appreciated as im a bit low on funds at the minute

It would need to have an lift pump of sorts, you should hear a sloosh sound when the ignition is keyed on, if not then lift pump is out of action.
