Title: Buzzy fuel pump relay
Post by: leigh_harty on 27 October 2012, 10:42
What causes the fuel pump relay to buzz?

Car sometimes starts 1st time... sometimes it just buzzes when cranking over.. sometimes relay does nothing whilst cranking (thus not starting at all)

Ive already replaced the relay for a genuine new one and all that did was buzz louder

Should i check for earth issues?

I thought it was the pump that buzzed when powered up, not the relay?

No it's defiantly the relay. Put my finger on it and crank it and you can tell.... and hear.

Now it doesn't even buzz... so no priming the pump

If your not priming check fuse 18 if it keeps blowing let us now ... or have a read
