In halfords and need power steering fluid but can find the one I need for my golf 1.8t yr 2000. Does anyone no pls help.

You need the mineral stuff from VW.
Mixing with the old causing a bit aggro I think.

Turn around, use the exit door. Get back in your car and head to TPS or VW/Audi/Skoda to buy some of the mineral stuff. As Chris said above - does not mix too well with the ATF that halfords sell.
If you are desperate, get some ATf and try it but then get some proper stuff and fluch the old stuff out and replace.

Got stuff off my mate. They r useless in halfords !

DO NOT PUT HALFORDS PS OIL IN THE CAR, even though it says in the halfords fluid selector that it is the right stuff it isn't only put the gen VW oil in.
As said go to VW\Audi\Skoda\SEAT and get it from there, it's cheaper than Halfords to :tu: if you can buy from your local TPS it will be even cheaper.

Halfords Central Hydraulic Fluid is the right stuff, not their 'power steering fluid'. I'm not sure what this lot are moaning about.
I wouldn't use it though, as it's twice the cost of proper VAG PSF from GSF/TPS.
I've had to buy the halfords stuff many times when the girlfriends Polo PAS has popped a hose on a sunday!
