Title: PD130 Engine Swap
Post by: dannyd126 on 25 October 2012, 20:43
Hey guys

I have a mk4 SE tdi with the 110bhp engine.

it needs a new clutch but tbh id rather drop a PD130 lump in it, is anyone able to tell me what would need to be swapped to get it all running?

Obviously i would need the engine, ecu and gearbox, but does anything else need to be changed?

cheers

dan

IC, RAD, maybe air box, possibly gear linkages...possibly engine mounting points/engine mounts.

Don't know how many, if any, of the above are factual, just guesstimating

youll need the engine with clutch and flywheel. youd have to get a 6 speed box too as the clutch wont fit in your gearbox. youll need the pd130 driveshafts and need to adjust the power steering pipes slightly too.
youll also want the lift pump from the pd130 as well as the keys, clocks, ecu, turbo, boost pipe work, and some loom too. quite a lot of work for the sake of a clutch.
if you do go down the clutch route, change the flywheel too as these are prone to breaking. itd be a right pain to change the clutch only for the flywheel to die a few months later
