Myoriginal timing belt and tensioner arrived today, to do on my GTD.
I first marked everything up took off the old belt, but when I put on the new belt I can never get the belt to go around the crankshaft sprocket to fit with tensioner its a whole tooth off.
So when I fit it on the crankshaft moves,it was like a tooth and a half off but the crankshaft turned so I said i`ll give it a go but she would not start?
I`m beginning to think they gave me a different timing belt.
Anyone know what i`m doing wrong any advice would be much appreciated

Count the teeth

I checked it its good,I am going to buy a timing kit tool to hold the crankshaft.

Everything that can turn should be locked off in the correct position.
Only the tensioner should be loose.
