Title: 1.8t possibly for sale whats it worth?
Post by: Dan_GTi8v on 25 October 2012, 15:03
Just after ideas really, just got the new house and will be getting a dog, kids won't be far off! So will be getting a cheap diesel estate and thinking of garaging the mk3 till summer, but what could I expect to get for it as a full car or a possible drive away conversion? It's a fully running 1.8t conversion but has no mot, should pass but not 100% sure could possibly fail on handbrake

Also add no faults or anything I've been driving out since conversion for around a year, mot had only just run out

See a mint supercharged vr6 with costom leather go for £2500

You would need to give it mot and tax to get best money.

 £2000 is tops to me.

Mot is more of a time issue than money, tax is good for 6 months. If someone offered £2000 id tear their arm off! I worry that if I garage it it would get neglected would rather sell it to someone who would use it just can't let it go for cheap I was expecting to struggle to get a grand for it

needs a MOT to really get any decent offer

I was offered 10k for my car at VW festival     thats including my MTM Porsche/Audi RS2 turbo parts (£7k reciept for this stuff alone)
bear in mind i have full 2.5k repaint, 2k retrim, fully forged 45k S3 lump with genuine MTM kit etc etc, truly a 1 off car
I could not build a exact replica for this price.. its worth more in parts sadly

i think 2.5k max if you had MOT (and rest of car is tidy). and this is really a bargain for someone who wants a 20vt mk3.. will cost more than that to carry out the conversion

id hold on to it if i was u, too little money for the work put in

Thx for replies pretty much what I was expecting. I say of quickly take 2 grand but only because its more than what I think it would get anywhere else it would be reluctantly and I wouldn't take any less, the amount of time and money spent on it makes me want to cry!

Think im gonna garage it until the house is sorted and I can afford to run and maintain it again

Moment of madness over
