My first was Keane and Travis! The best one ever was Radiohead at Reading fest in 2010, so awesome
-
First was Bauhas. Best was Echo and the Bunnymen.
-
nice.. wish i could have been about 20/30 years earlier!
-
Yes I'm old.......don't rub it in
-
i find i keep getting older too, it's weird
-
Glad it's not just me.
Another good gig was The Smiths on what was their first main UK tour. They only had 10 songs so it was short but good.
-
Acne Rabble at The Rock Garden Middlesbrough 1977
Massive Wagons at Carnforth Hotel 2012
-
Michael Jackson, Wembley stadium 1988 at the age of 4!
Best gig, Sooooo many! Rage Against The Machine at Reading Festival, Oasis at Reading Festival in a lightning storm. Biffy Clyro, everytime I see them!
-
1990 - 1st gig was Public Enemy and 3rd Bass with the UKs World DMC champ Cutmaster Swift doing a showcase. This was their It Takes A Nation Of Millions album tour.
Too many good gigs but again Public Enemy doing that whole album again live. In order. But Beastie Boys were ace at the Sabotage era.
I also don't do large arena gigs. Lose the intimacy with the band.
-
First I think was Free in McIlroys ballroom Swindon. (1970) That venue had also hosted the Beatles and The Rolling Stones!
Best I think was Weeley Festival (1971) or maybe Dire Straits at the NEC in 1982.
Or Genesis at Knebworth
Or maybe Iron Maiden at Earls Court
Dunno so many to choose from.
-
My first gig was Ocean Colour Scene when I was about 10.
I can't think of the best gig I've been to, I go to about 2 gigs a month.
Seeing The Stone Roses at their first night at Heaton Park this year is up there.
Little Barrie at the 100 club was quality.
And the most famous punk band that no one'e ever heard of, "Cock Sparrer", are amazing live. If you don't mind being in an audience thats full of skinheads.
-
First gig was Blue Oyster Cult in 77ish
Robert Plant @ The Charlotte in Leicester, I was one out of about 60 people, as it was a secret gig, fully acoustic, and one of the highlights of my life!
Radiohead at Nottingham a few years ago compleatly blew me away, I honestly don't understand people that don't get Radiohead
Local lads Kasabian, get to see them regularly, great musicians and song writing
2 weeks ago, I went to see Ray Davies at De Montfort hall Leicester,
Those who know, know!

First gig was lostprophets back in 07.
Best gig was definitely AC/DC at Download in 2010! f**king amazing.
Train, Kerrang! Relentless Tour back in early 2011, Good Charlotte, Pendulum, Korn, Disturbed, Devil Driver, Lamb of God! All very, very good gigs. Lots of injuries. But worth it :)
-
^^^ you haven't seen ac/dc unless it was with Scott Bonham, and Angus as a young man!!!

Let me sort that:
^^^ you haven't seen ac/dc unless your'e very old!!!

First one ever was Simple Minds at Roundhay park in Leeds in 1989. Got loads of faves, first time I saw Kasabian in 2008 at The Engine Shed (I think) in Lincoln, was a smallish but brilliant gig and saw them again at Manchester MEN the other year, they really are a top band. The Twang at Leeds uni were quality and seeing Jay Z on the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury in 2008 and Stevie Wonder at the same place in 2010 will always be right up there as will seeing The Stone Roses this July.

I thought your favourite was Mozart?

Mozart? No way! Chopin maybe.
Just remembered another good one!
U2 at the old Wembley - the Joshua Tree Tour. (1987)
-
First: 1993 - U2 - Wembley - Zooropa tour
Best: Glastonbury
-
Not sure who my first gig was tbh, but I think the best was Muse on their origin of symmetry tour, back in the early 2000's. I saw them at the Portsmouth Guildhall, absolutely cracking, first time I crowdsurfed too!
Then met the band out the back and had a chat with them, still got my Muse hoody signed by matt bellamy!
-
Not sure on my first, but one of my early gig memories was Terrorvision at Rock City in Nottingham, supported by a little known band called Feeder.
Best gig, tricky.
Moby at Greenbelt Festival in 1997, he picked up a guitar and played an awesome version of Purple Haze.
Nickelback at Hammersmith Apollo in 2004, first gig with my wife.
Foo Fighters at Earls Court 2005
John Mayer supported by Newton Faulkner at the Royal Albert Hall in 2006 I think.
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy at the Jazz Cafe in 2002 (if you're into big band swing jazz)
So many good bands/artists to see. You can't beat seeing someone live, especially in a small venue.
-
First gig - Green Day at Brixton Academy on their Dookie tour

-
First gig - Green Day at Brixton Academy on their Dookie tour

Can't remember my first. And it's hard to pick an absolute best. But here's my top few.
Rise Against last year at O2 Brixton.
Coldplay at Rock Werchter 2009.
Green Day at O2 Arena in 2009.
Kasabian at the O2 Arena last year.
Went to see Billy Talent, Don Broco and Awolnation last night too, which was pretty good. Also got [spunge] next Saturday :)
-
First gig was U2 in Mexico City in 1997 when I was 11 years old. My brother in law kindly took me after I put my family through an insufferable amount of stress
Got me hooked for life!
Best gig would be a toss up between U2 at Earls Court in 2001 or Mumford and Sons, Glastonbury 2011.
