-
if you have an ignition amp stick with the factory airbox and put a green cotton / K&N in it rather than a cold feed pipe
-
ive unpluged my ignition amp and pluged it back in and car running fine at mo is it faulty and need replacing ? got my scaner now plug it in and got a few fault codes 00515 ( camshaft position sensor) -- 16500 (engine coolent cercuit) -- 00285 (front right wheel speed sensor ) are these eazyish jobs to do and were can i got the parts from cheers
-
you need to clear the codes off and see what comes back. They might be years old
Also if the ignition amp is faulty it won't throw up a code
-
yeah i cleared the codes it had last nyt and thats the ones that came up 2day after a 20min drive ..so would u suggest buying a new ign amp ?? cheers
-
Not yet, sort the other codes first
camshaft position sensor looks easy enough, it's just on the drivers side front of the head
Coolant fault
16500/P0116/000278 - Engine Coolant Temp. Sensor (G62): Implausible Signal
Possible Symptoms
Starting the engine when engine is warmish or warm, idle rpm immediately is 1200 - 3000 rpm.
Diesel: an indication is extreme long time burning time of the glow indication light.
With all engine temperatures seldom idle rpm will vary between 900 - 1000 rpm.
With engine warm (90 °C) the engine temperature suddenly drops (70 °C) and slowly comes back to 90 °C.
Possible Causes
Wiring and/or connections faulty
Engine Coolant Sensor (G62) faulty
Possible Solutions
Check wiring and connections
Replace Engine Coolant Sensor (G62)
Special Notes
In MY 1995-2002 (?) in Europe at VW-cars the G2/G62 had the bad reputation of breaking down often. The default G2/G62 is black and all replacements are green.
Check if the correct Coolant Fan Control Module/Relay is installed (check part number using parts catalogue)!
Speed sensor is easy enough to change too
