And does remap help mpg?
-
On a fun drive I can get as low as 15 on a nice long run you.can see high 30s.
-
1999 AGU 1.8T mapped 41.0 mpg could get better but that my 15-20min drive.
-
Does depends on alot of variables - not least how it's driven but also the condition of the engine; given that these engines are over 15 years old now.
This was a 600 mile round journey 60-70 mph on the way there and 60mph on the return journey, using ~55L of petrol on a 20vt, I could of managed better if I hadn't encountered rush hour traffic.

The engine is in very good condition though and has been completely rebuilt - head and bottom end. It has more or less completely bedded in now and the car itself weighs in at 1100 kg (+/-20kg)

My long term average is around 32 but thats 90% town driving. On a run I get around 40.
-
On a bad run i can get around 28, on a good run i can get around 34
-
22mpg tops, that's the beauty of short journeys
-
and just to add remap does not help mpg but puts a great smile on your face
-
Lovely cheers all much help
-
Remap can help MPG figures.
-
38-40 on a run is possible, 7mpg on track, everything else is somewhere in between :P
Long term average on my 220bhp AUM daily driver used to be 27mpg
-
TBH the MPG the computer says is a lie really but I get about 320-340 miles per tank :)
-
I get between 240-280 out of a tank and thats with 1x lambda sensor shot!
-
Around 350 a tank. Its the fuel cost thats a killer between £65 and £70 from empty to fill.
20p a mile so every day 60 to 100 its close to £20 a day..
-
£40 gets me 122 miles
-
my engine is still bedding in but i have also hit the high 40's. 46.6mpg driving up the M1 to sheffield
-
£40 gets me 122 miles
something VERY wrong there mate
-
I'm seeing 40, 50 miles to 20 pound due to short runs recently aswell but still it's shocking, I live less than a mile from work so I'm gonna start Biking haha
-
I get on average - 80-90 miles for £20 worth of Tesco 99, and that's when I take it out for a play, driven hard
-
£40 gets me 122 miles
something VERY wrong there mate
Also about a mile to work for me!! Once the evap system is removed ill use unisettings and change it so it doesn't pump extra fuel on cold start up  ........ Unless that's not clever :embarrassed:
-
According to the trip computer on my motor i average around 35mpg and that on a 12 mile trip to work and back so i do around 25 miles a day. If i go to london to see my relatives, i see 40+ and the only mod is a panel filter.
-
and just to add remap does not help mpg but puts a great smile on your face
Doesn't help it, but doesn't affect it either.
-
i got 291 on half a tank, and then about 500 odd at the next half tank fill up, bearing in mind this was a trip up to north scotland piks to follow for you non believers
-
I wouldn't think there is anything not to believe, I managed over 600 miles on 55L of petrol. My trip computer was reading over 47mpg average which if anything is under reading.
-
TBH the MPG the computer says is a lie really but I get about 320-340 miles per tank :)
You can calibrate the trip computer using Vagcom.
-
So far I've seen an average of 30MPG which has been a mixture of motorway and around town driving.
I've only opened it up a few times and mostly been trying to drive steady.
I have the Stage 1 remap and a panel filter (AGU)
-
depends how heavy your right shoe is  mines 12mpg at play time
