Seen these Borbet A copies on eBay.

Don't want them staggered, the seller said I can have a pair of 15 x 8j et30. Would these fit without any issues? Don't want to mess around with the arches. Also I have a late spec GTI so 288mm front disc. Probably looking to use the 205/50/15 tyres from my current wheels. I'm not lowered at the moment but will be down 30-40mm in coming weeks.
Thanks!

With that tyre I think you would struggle to not make it rub. But if your car ain't stupid low they will be ok. But if you are low then the arch might eat the tyre

195/50/15's would give you more room.

Yeah that's an option, they're at least a nice cheap size. I was more concerned as to whether they will fit over the brakes. Anyone had 15" Borbet A's on their Mk3?

Another option is the Dare DR-B in 16" which I can get with Toyo proxes for £599 from Wheelbase alloys.

Well 15" is the standard size so will / should fit over the brakes all ok.

Yeah true, just don't want to buy something that won't fit! Thinking now about Dare Dr- B in 16x8 et25 with 195/45/16. Down 40/30mm, will that be okay?

Will be fine. I ran that size tire at about 100mm down without rubbing.
16x8 with a slight stretch like that, I reckon you're need to be lower than 40mm to pull it off.
