Title: clutch problem
Post by: tiredtracey on 19 October 2012, 21:50
Hi I think I know the answer to this question but I'm gonna throw it out here, just in case I've overlooked something.
I've just completed an engine conversion on my mk2 golf gti, I've put a 2ltr AGG bottom end on my PB head and using my mk2 gearbox, I've left the mk3 clutch on the bottom end, as the bloke said it was a goodun  got the engine running today with no problems running great  only thing is when I depress the clutch I get an awful squealing noise, went i put it in gear with the engine off and start the engine the wheels dont spin (on axle stands) so I'm guessing its not engaging

any suggestions or is it a new clutch? if so do i buy one for a mk2 or 3 ?

thanks

T

Might be worth adjusting the linkages before looking at the clutch.

are they adjustable as I cant see any adjustment areas. I was wandering if the mk3 had more or less teeth that the mk2 thus its not meshing up?  :undecided:
