Title: Mk2 stereo help

Hi, new to the forum, just brought a 1988 mk2 golf originally 1.3 but now 1.8t 20v. The stereo didnt work so i took it out to find it wasnt even plugged in, however i couldnt see the connector i only found some wires that had been cut, can anyone tell me if they are for the stereo? pics attatched
