If you watched it, post your thoughts on what in my opinion is the best Grand Designs/best house I have every seen. If you didn't watch it, watch it and be prepared to jizz your pants.
-
I absolutely loved it, pretty much lost for words.
They've got the best view of London in the world.

I literally have no idea how much that building must be worth, is it even possible to put a price on it? Shard flats are fetching 50 million, so i'm gonna put tonight in at 30million at least.
-
I'm trying to figure out where the building is. I'm looking at Strata Tower on Google Maps but can't find the water tower.
-
i didn't like it at all...
-
i think the best one i have seen was the guy who was the woodsman and built his house from what he harvested from the woods, it had a cruck frame and straw bales for walls, pretty awesome. the ones where they just throw loads of money at it dont really do it for me

i also don't think it was a very sympathetic design... no thought for environmental factors as far as i could tell, no thought for using recycled materials etc... its no wonder that it was built so quick
-
They didn't strike me as the sort of people that would care about that kind of thing. To busy bumming each other in their 6 man bath!!

Watched that one the other day... couldnt believe that it only cost him like £80k in the end
That house would have cost you close to £1m if you paid someone else to do that
-
Kevin mclouds manmade home was also superb, i loved the concept and workmanship behind that personal project of his.

I thought that bloke showed some real guts in putting his money where his mouth is to save an old water tower and the results were breathtaking, certainly not a 'family' home but much better than some of the anonymous lego bricks around him and i suspect he'll get every penny and more of that two million back when he comes to sell.

Erm.. Took real guts to throw £500k of one of his chums money at it!
Legacy. Pah.

Very nice but I felt the programme understated the workman ship and the hard slog the workman had. I say fair to them not the guys paying the bills.
-
They have ended up with a fantastic home from a derelict building.
I like it but wouldnt want to live there!
Oh and they should have put a second lift internally up to the tank room.
-
Awesome Build, and the only thing that annoyed me was the way the Leigh matey kept saying 'I' which annoys the sh!t out of me when people don't give credit where credits due.
Many people busted their nuts in that build From the Labourers to the Architect an all he kept saying was 'I will be remembered for this' ..........'I have put my blood and sweat into this' ........'I have been kept awake at night by bills'
No mention of others, even his Partner!
-
Yer I was thinking that was a little odd as well jord. His partner didn't have any part of the show and the achitects was filmed once in the on site cabin
-
Anyone watching McClouds spinoff, "man made house", I'm enjoying that!
-
Was thoroughly blown away by it and the view from the water tank was amazing
That said I agree with Kevin McClouds dislike for London, great for a day out but sod living there!
-
what episode number was it? i can only find episode 6 river thames and episode 7 brixton on 4od
-
Awesome build but would not want to live in it.
-
Innit, I bet it's an absolute pain in the arse at times with all those floors but this said i'm sure i could cope.

Just watched this episode, what a mint building
Has anyone managed to find out how much it's been valued at in it's finished state?
