Looks like the plug for the idle switch (at the back of the throttle body).
-
Have you only just discovered it, does it run ok?
-
Its been like it since i had it, it runs fine, has a slight misfire but i put this down to needing new plugs . It does need me too press on the throttle to start it once started it runs a bit lumpy for 10 seconds then its fine, could this be linked?

That my dear friends is the auxiliary heater plug, not used on uk models but it's plugged onto a plug blank on the plastic breather that goes into the rubber elbow on the throttle body, don't plug it into the throttle stop switch!!!! It will blow fuse 21 (engine electrics) and you will be searching for days as to why it don't idle.... But then, as I've said that if your smart, you'll listen, if your like me you'll be a disbelieving sod and plug it in, just to check like,
-
Ill believe you! Cheers
-
As you can tell, I plugged it in...
-
Point taken, if I find a plug laying around I won't just plug it in without researching a bit first.
-
Trouble was I had repaired the famous wiring above the manifold and hadlost the labelling I put on, 2 plugs the same, 50/50 chance, I didn't have fone a friend an I used my life line up earlier in the day, alas... I didn't get to the million pound question that day pmsl
-
Ah thats exactly where i thought id seen it before but couldnt remember if it had a small sensor on the end of it where it clipped into the long plastic breather pipe.
Im going to be ditching that pipe soon so i assume this plug connector can be lost in the process to tidy things up?
-
I believe so, I cut it out when I put my abf in the mk2, an not had any problems at all!
-
Cool, the plug for the purge valve fell to the same unfortunate fate to.
-
Too true!
