Is Birmingham a bad place to buy a car from... particularly from a dealer?
Cheers; Les

Thats a big YES! Unfortunately, where the motor trade is concerned, Brum is full of Rogues!
I speak with many years of experience in the trade.

My sister in laws husband is Kurdish. He has alot of friends in Brum and regularly goes up there to get cars off them for pence! He then comes back down to Plymouth and sells them on. He always makes a decent profit, but I'd never buy a car from him!
-
Yes every car I've gone to see in brum has been a heap
-
Cheers guys, thats a real shame the car i found 'appeared' to be just what I wanted at £500 below my budget
-
surely this is rediculous! never but a car from birmingham, all the sh!tters end up there.
its true, not a single good car for sale in the entire city
-
I bought my Audi from a garage in Birmingham
Well, eventually I did
-
I know there will be loads of well looked after, legitimate examples, and don't mean to offend anyone. Just wanted to get a general overview for it's reputation as I am sure I've heared it mentioned a few times and just wanted to clarify. The car I've seen could be the best looked after car in the whole of brum for all I know... I just don't want to take any chances
Cheers, Les

Lets be honest buying any car is a lottery no matter where you buy it from.
Buying from a dealer should also give you piece of mind but that is not always the case.

It also all depends on where abouts in brum not every where is that bad I've had a few from there as I only used to live about 5 mins away from there just certain places in the centre I would stay clear from

Comedy responses on this thread from some people sounding like total idiots.
You go guys (http://www.northloop.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/thumb.gif)
Personally I'd try and avoid buying any car from much further north of Birmingham, but that's because they're generally rot-boxes because of the amount of salt on the roads.

id never buy from birmingham.....
simply because loads of brummies in the trade go to kingsland car auctions ....... ( kingsland car auctions is a big sale of end of life sheds )
-
i usually end up buying a car private based on the picture and how nice the estate looks
just living around 15 minutes from brum, i would avoid the used car sales pitches
-
I hate Brum accent one of my mates grates me when he starts to speak to me I wouldn’t buy a car just because he is a Northerner! right?
After all buying cars from foreigners got to be a bad idea right?
Plus doing the checks on a car and owner, has to be the least priority in the lists of my, why I would or would not buy a car from an area right?
Dam you southerners have all the best cars!!!!
