Title: Small winter wheels time
Post by: Ess_Three on 16 October 2012, 16:03
It was -5C not too far away from where I live last night...so time to dig out the small(er) winter wheels.

A change of wheel this year - some VW Racing (Team Dynamics) 8" x 18" Pro Race 1.2s, powder coated in my usual anthracite colour, and wrapped in a rather fine set of 225/40/18 Michelin Pilot Alpins:

So here it is, in full 'winter' spec, complete with black badges, black exhaust tips and anthracite painted plastics:

Lovely looking car with some really nice touches

Wanting to get my front lip sprayed to match the lower grill section, from memory did you suggest you had used a Fiat colour?

I may or may not have overtaken a non-plod looking motor (which subsequently proved to be fully plod equipped) around 2 years ago...and I may or may not have served a very long period of enforced walking as a result of teaching the aforementioned driver a 'lesson'

Soon!
It's fine...car is ready to go, I've done my time...but a recent change of job has just delayed things a month or two.

Orderd mine last week fom mytyres.

Spent a few weeks on ebay trying to buy some suitable alloys then found the mytres web site.

You can spec alloys ( or steelies ) and choice of winter tyres, fitted, balanced and delivered.

16 inch steels with vredestein wintracs came to £550

Some very smart 18 inch alloys with 225/40/18w rated Vredestein wintracs came to £900 so ordered those.

That's damn good!
I think I paid £700ish for just my Wintrac Xtremes a couple of years ago.

Do you have to do the whole lot inc. theory test?
Fingers crossed for you  hope it's not too tough (not sure I'd pass my test again!)
