Hi all
Just bought my self a mk5 gti the other day and found that the remote central locking is not working. I can't lock, unlock or open the boot with the key. I'm assuming that the key is fine as it starts the car fine. Anyone have any ideas of what could be causing this?
Also, on possibly an unrelated issue. The front passenger door will not unlock when pressing the unlock button in the car. It will lock however. Could this just be the locking mechanism getting stuck or is faulty?
Again any ideas of what this could be?
Any help would be great
Cheers
Jamie

the bit of the key that starts the car is separate to the part that operates the remote locking, but im not sure your key is the culprit here anyway (although it might need recoding/battery changing). the central locking system can throw a wobbly if one of the door locks is playing up and it sounds like your front passenger door lock module is the main suspect

Thanks for the repley.
Ill have a look for a new door module I think. Going to need one anyway because of the unlocking issue. Hopefully this will solve the issue.
cheers,
Jamie
