Title: Hello from newbie
Post by: Booth11 on 15 October 2012, 11:56
Hello all

Have been using the forum for a while now but thought I'd introduce myself.

Although new to forum not new to VW.  Currently have a 2012 MK6 GTi but previously had 2005 and 2008 Mk5 GTi's.  Anyway here are some pics.

 Welcome to the nut house!(http://www.websmileys.com/sm/fingers/fing31.gif)

Looks sweet that does, love the look of a black motor when the suns shinning on it

It's not just a GTI tho is it? It's the Eddy so you slightly demoted it a little by just calling it a GTI

Na not really pal, it's a stunner for sure...

Very nice but is it a 35 cos I can't see the wing badges?

Don't forget to check out the mk6 section.

No, not a 35, just a humble GTi, albeit factory built to spec

No probs.  yep, genuine glendales specced at time of order.  Thought they were a bit boy racer-ish at first but really like them now.

So did you spec them in place of the Monza Shadows that are usually the alloy upgrade for the GTI, reason ask is that your not normally aloud (i.e normally the dealer will only let you upgrade to the alloys pacific to that car) as the Glendales are normally just the ED35 upgrade...

Or did you buy them seperately to the order of the car?

They were offered as an upgrade option on VW Configurator on website back in summer.  Took spec to dealer and order placed, no problem :smug:  Maybe they changed the policy on options available with GTi?  Monza upgrade to Shadows was also available.
