Title: mk3 5 door/ Smoothing doors ?
Post by: Blackfear on 14 October 2012, 16:41
Recently Brought mk3 golf 16v 5 door, I took the arch trims off picked a set of cl trims from the scrappy, Don't really like them looking to smooth them all off but i want to know any one went about it, Has anyone welded in plates then skimmed some filler on there, Or Filled the whole thing with filler ?

I have looked all over forum and its been no information on it only smoothing the bumpers

Cheers

Please please please don't do it!

A lad in work did it on his 3dr and it looked cr@p, as the side of a 'slabby' mk3 needs the side trims to break it up.

If you have textured trims, look out for later VR6 smooth versions, as they look much better once colour coded.
