Title: Mk4 immobiliser problems HELP!

Hi, Looking for some help. I cant seem to immobilise my car (GTI 1.8t). When I put the key in the ignition and turn it I get a yellow light come up on the dashboard. This yellow light is in the shape of a car body with a key symbol in the middle. What does this mean? I have tried jumping the car bu this does not work so I'm thinking it must be a key/immobiliser issue? Can anyone offer any advice?? Please note the car wont start at all.

Best to get it scanned with vagcom for faults to be honest.
