been offered a vectra gsi 2.5 V6 for my mk3.....i know it will prob be a bit biased on here but wondered what ppl think of the swap?
-
I know 3 people who have owned one and the engine has let go in a big way on all of them.
-
Yep can't drive them like a golf vr6.
Got to ask ya self why he wants to swap
-
its my mates car....and he needs something cheaper to run....
-
It's the lure of budget luxury, trouble is that those comfy seats come with shocking reliability and costly repair bills.

yeah the golf had him all the way untill the golf topped out by the looks of it. gsi only got ahead in the last top speed stretch witch is useless on normal roads so keep the golf as it will do the vectra on speed and cornering on normal raods

If you want budget luxury get an A4 or A6. Decent engine choice which include 1.8t, 2.7 bi-turbo & 2.5 v6 tdi. My quattro 2.5 tdi A6 gets 39mpg and has plenty of toys with full leather.

Swapt it
but
only if you are a tw@t

You dont buy cars based on the speed....
Vectra v6s have their overtaking dull uses... whilst remaining to be a bag of crap

What question does that answer?, the vectra is a more modern and powerful multivalve engine so it should be quicker than an 8v......10 seconds after that video ended the vectra will have self destructed in a cloud of smoke while the 8v will have sped off in to the distance..

Vectras are ok and as for the V6 being trouble they are bulletproof if looked after.
But your asking the wrong question on a VW forum :lipsrsealed:
