Title: OEM bush pay once, polybush pay twice?
Post by: scarr89 on 09 October 2012, 14:26
Speaking to a friend of mine who has just bought a mk4 R32...advisory from last MOT for rear bushes, I suggest polybushing he insists OEM as he would have to buy at least 2 sets of poly bushes in the same life time as OEM?

I was under the impression that poly lasts far longer than OEM?

Anyone clear this opinion?  :undecided:

Poly do take more abuse because they're harder, so they flex less. On a lot of cases they end up cracking earlier than standard rubber bushes.

polybuhes arn't as amazing as powerflex and alike would like you to think.

crap gets in and they wear the poly also seems to distort over tie with some stick  so they go sloppy

Id go OEM on rear bushes personally. I like my suspension to actually work plus polys used here act like bearings rather a flex  points over time.

Interesting. I just assumed as they were 'tougher' that they'd last twice as long as OEM.  :embarrassed:
