Post by: godsANGER on 09 October 2012, 11:23
Hiya all

Can someone point me in the right directing for putting a Oil Catch Can on my Mk4 Golf TDi [AGR] as i am pretty useless about it.

What pipes to replace, what piping to get how much pipeing, how big how to Etc Etc and if its even worth putting one on it.

Thanks in advance

ebay is your best bet BUT the max inlet/outlet size is 15mm and the stock VW piping is 19mm I/D

so you will either need a company to make you some inlets that replace the 15mm standard ones and then you can use various tubing, I chose the one that was designed for oil but some dont, and you run a piece from the rocker cover to one of the inlets and then a piece from the puck that Ts into a piece to the oil breather under the inlet manifold and run the remaining piece back into the other inlet on the catch can.

Thanks matei, so its going to be a pain regarding the pipe size then?

There was a guy on ebay that sold the piping as a catch can setup and unless you want to go for the expensive http://www.saikoumichi.com/ which already has 19mm inlet / outlet you need custom inlet / outlet making

Cully had some for around £10, I got mine free from a friend, the issue with the ones I had made were one needed to be longer than the other because both pipes together were too wide to sit on the inlet/outlet side by side

i had 19mm stainless steel fittings custom made for £10 in a local engineering place and i also managed to get both pipes on side by side but as dalo said one would be better slightly longer to make it a bit easier when fitting the 2 pipes
