Title: K+N heatshield - material??
Post by: whileoceanasleeps on 07 October 2012, 11:52
Hi, i made a heat shield for my k+N cone from steel. I figure the engine will be most efficient with the coldest air getting to the filter, so does anyone know a suitable way/material for insulating the outside of the shield? Been to wickes/local hardware stores but can't find anything. I'm guessing some sort of plumbing material? I figure there must be something for it?

Here's the shield:

Also planning to have 2 pipes coming up from the grill below the fogs to either side of the cone as a cold air feed... cheap and easy :)

thanks
