they will all pretty much make the same power tbh with the correct suporting mods ..... ko3s hybrid is more or less a ko4 001 from what i believe

was talking to a turbo technician and he says he would make me a k03 hybrid for £265 would it be better to go k03s hybrid or just buy a k04-001

Depending on the internals likely to get more out of a k03 hybrid than K04-001.

260bhp & 300 ft/lb is possible from a K04-001 with all the right supporting mods

what you think the k03 hybrid would reach with all supporting mods

if i was to do the k03 hybrid would i need to remap straight way or could the car be driven with standard map

K03 and k03s hybrids end up the same thing. K04-001 will see 250-260bhp whilst a hybrid k03 will get 280-300bhp depending on the spec. They can be run on a stick car/map providing you unplug the n75 till its mapped.

All sounds dodgy to me mate. A hybrid turbo for 265?

WHAT hybrid is it? You could fit a ko3S comp wheel to a ko3 and it's technically a ko3 hybrid!

Or you could fit a ko4 turbine wheel to a ko3S and call that a ko3S hybrid, although in reality you've created a ko4-001.

Find out exactly what internals he's talking about fitting.

My choice would be a ko3 hotside with k04-023 internals from Littco as they've been proven to make over 280bhp on typical st2 mods.

going to talk to the turbo technician tomorrow to get more details on the internals that he would be putting in the k03 hopefully he can do k04-023 internals

You need a bigger turbine wheel not compressor! The k03s wheel will flow 250-260bhp its the turbine which is the limiting part! Fitting that big compressor isn't going to be the best option as it still needs something to drive it! A small k03 turbine...

Post by: markgti1.8t on 09 October 2012, 10:24
so you think the turbo would be on the limit at 260bhp

With a k03 turbine I'd be surprised if you got anywhere near 260!
