Meant to post this up 7 months ago. Whoops.
On picking it up new from the dealer, I went round the corner and covered the areas (except for the mirrors) that were going to be done.
The day after I got it, I went to Paintshield in Peterborough and had the standard film kit applied. http://www.paintshield.co.uk/

6 months and just under 11k later, it's blemish free.

Excellent.
How visible is the line where it joins the wings and bonnet?
How much did it cost please?
-
Circa £600
Hardly visible. It really depends on the angle etc. I tried to make it show in pictures 4,5 & 6.
I bought a new Spec C Impreza back in 2006 and the paint is thinner than a standard version. I've still got it and have only done 29k and it's off the road from Nov - Mar (to miss the road salt and bad weather). However the front has suffered and I promised the next new car I bought, despite wincing at the cost, it was going to be protected from day 1 (or rather day 2 in this case) :)

Thanks
I guess if it's keeping it in top condition the it's worth it. My 59 GTD has a few stonechips and I think my next might have something like this. £600 is better than a respray.
What is the fitting like around the bumper which is obviously a lot more intricate than the wings and bonnet.
-
Very good. I don't notice the front bumper at all.
-
I would do this to my next new car as mine has more stone chips than paint.

And I thought I had OCD!
