Title: De-code your optional extras, from the sticker inside trunk, under carpet
Post by: GOLF-MK3-GTI on 04 October 2012, 21:04
Don't know if this has been posted before, but just come across this website and thought that I would share it:

http://igorweb.org/equidec/Default.aspx

Basically, type in the optional extra codes into the input box on that website and then click "Decode!"
This tells you exactly what the codes mean!

For example, I found out that my MK3 came with central locking & power windows With comfort operation and circuit breaker, from the code "4F1 & 4R4" on the sticker.
This is the same sticker that has your paint code and engine number etc on!

I've also got heated electrical wing mirrors, code: 3AV & 3BF

Right, just came across this VW manual and apprently the seller is claiming it's from a VW golf gti colour concept.

Looking at the 2nd picture, it looks as tho it has loads of optional extras, ohh and this sticker is in the trunk and in the service manual of your car,

These codes are under the colour code & gearbox code, in tiny writing

eBay item number: 280932971676

Why would someone try selling a used service book on ebay?
