Cheers for that, useful link
Anyone got this setup on there golf?
Dont wanna take the wheels out the box if they wont fit or if theyll hit the suspension
-
they will fit fine mate. Out of interest, have you got photographs of the wheels?
Personally, i wont be going any more that an 18inch alloy but lots of people are starting to run the 19" x5 alloys and they are wide as hell!

Yep will get a pic up soon as i get home, got the set new from ebay, ive got rs8's on her at the mo, 19" 8.5j et40 but the only way they work is with 10mm spacers n even then they only jus clear the coilovers

i'm 19 x 8.5 et 35.
5mm spacers up front and 15mm rear.
215 35 19 tyres

Any rubbing at the front with coilies? Thats the only thing im worried bout tbh

i had 9x19's on my mk4 when i bought it, not sure what the et was but there was no contact with the coilovers, they didn't rub until i dropped the car lol, tyres were 235/35/19, i have a 4motion and although the 4 wheel drive system improves the handling it was a shocking car round corners, i have got rid of the 19's and am now running 18's with 215/40/18 tyres and the corners i was losing control on at 50 i can now do 80 round with just a bit of tyre squeal rather than full blown sideways slides

returning em though coz i tried one n there was literaly 1mm clearance from the alloy to coilies!
gotta search for a 8j set now

i run 8.5j on front with 16mm spacers, and i run 11j on the rear with 28mm adapters and some serious stretch. Grow a pair

I have rs8 19"s on mine not sure on wheel width but have 235 rubber fitted. Think the rear has been dropped. No spacers or rubbing. Will have a look tomorrow at the wheel width.
