I always thought it was like an anti-scratch pad if you miss the barrel with your key.

i thought it was just to help stop any other keys or things swinging and knocking against the plasticc???

AcidicDavey...

I think it is the Warning triangle/first aid kit. No mention of it in the manual. Think it regulation to carry one in 'urope.
