Whats best way to change my headlining as i have a sunroof, original headlining is creamy - 1 dirty colour .... seen as i have parked up my car for a little while id like to change the headlining to alcantra black and either spray or wrap the pillars in the same material ... MK3 LADS HELPP IS NEEDED.....

Doesn't matter that you have a sunroof, You just need to use some good contact adhesive and stick on the material. You will have to remove the sunroof blind and recover that too.
wickes contact adhesive is very good. Not as easy as the spray stuff, but holds well, as long as you let it go tacky first.

I'm thinking of doing the exact same thing, so if you get around to it before I do I'd love to see some photos of how you get on...
Also, what alcantara are you thinking of using and where are you getting it from?

I bought my fabric from boyes, its a suede type and was £6.99 a metre
Just need to get some glue and crack on with it.
I did one of my old mk2s a few years ago and my bora last year, just take your time.

Right
Pull the a pillars away at the top by roof , remove b pillars they won't come off because of the belt but come away , then the big strip comes down at the back between either c pillar , pull c pillars away ,
Remove sun visors and grab hand'els
Then the roof drops down the sun roof seal is on stiff so just peak it down away from the roof liner and un plug roof control switch ,
Remove liner out boot
Remove the interior light unit of the liner .Pull all old cloth of liner but leave foam ,
Stick new material down and make loads of slack around grab hand'els as they need to screw up without splitting material
Glue round the back aswell by a few cm so it doesn't fray on edges you can see ,
Go in the car the slider for the roof comes out the rear , remove the smtwo stops and it just slides out the back and trim that / be Carefull with this you can't fold the edges over but you can only see 90% of this panel when refitted
Then refit and thank me later :)

thats exactly how i want it, wen u covered your pillars, is it just material spray glue u used or did u have to rub the pillars down so it sticks better ? and how did you go about cutting the mid section the the middle pillar where the seat adjuster is ?

Space invaders £9.99 Argos bed sheet ! Have loads left over and get a pillow case ;)
Works out cheapest to get a bed sheet because you cut it in half to use what was a double side'd sheet as it had the battern on both sides
I used the wickes glue as mentioned above , but on a really hot day it just went tacky again and dropped , so took the staple gun out and showed it who's boss man

Did you coat both sides and let it go tacky/dry before sticking it down?
Never had a problem with mine. Very strong glue

Can't remember the glue but the nick name is fishy glue.
I just cut the inside out, left about an inch and folded/cut it and pushed it behind this was then coated in glue and silicon to make sure it doesn't come off.

Strip the foam off! The foam drying up is the reason the material starts to sag in the first place!
I used this stuff, very good stuff and not messy.

Order 2 cans and you'll have plenty, also, when choosing your material don't go for something to thick as you struggle to get it into all the nooks and crannies like me with my leatherette! You'll only end up ruining your headlining if you go for something to thick.
