You know the light in the middle of the water temp guage. What is this for? Is it oil pressure? If it is then how come when it comes on the buzzer doesent go off? Also which sensor controlls this? And am i in danger if i keep driving while its flashing at me?

It's the coolant level indicator, it will start flashing if your coolant level drops too low or the sensor is faulty. Depending on the type of expansion bottle you have it will either be a screw in sensor or be moulded into the bottle. Check your coolant and keep an eye on your temp guage.

A couple of things I would add are :
1) The red light is also an early warning of overheating (this is why some people may have experienced the light flashing momentarily when driving along , this is caused by a intermittent break in communication which causes the light to come on just like it does momentarily when you first turn the ignition on )
(Does that make sense?)
2) To check the the plug that goes on to the level sensor to make sure there isn't any signs of coolant /water , as this can be drawn back up the wires to the fuse box / relay plate and bu66er it up

Thanks for all that info. For some reason i thought it was to do with the oil and kept worrying everytime it came on. I will flush my system and see how it goes. Ive got one of the round expansion bottles which in my experience are crap cos the cap never seals propperly and hisses.
Next question. Whats the procedure for doing a reverse flush of the system? Hints and tips apreciated.

Aaaargh reverse flush can be a nightmare... If you really must then do it but generally if you leave a hose running thru the Mk2 system for 10 mins you can well and truly avoid the reverse flush. After refilling a Mk2 make sure you get all the air out! Ended up jacking the fns of mine just to get the exp tank nice n high!
