Title: Cabrio - Manual to Electric Roof
Post by: LazyLunatic on 30 September 2012, 14:35
Is it a case of swap the roof, motor, loom and switch over and there you go? Or is it a bit more involving?

Or another option, can you convert an electric roof to manual?

Thanks :)

Depending on whats broken mate. what is it thats failed?
the motor isnt too bad of a job and you could prob do it yourself with the right tools but will take time as its in an awkward place.
If its just the roof with some tears in it then a new roof + fitting is about £400.

as for turning it into a manual is a simple no as its far to big, heavy and would be very awkward.

Nothing broke, just got an electric roof to fit and mine is manual as standard. Thought it would be case of just bolting it all in awkward or not.

I've shut/open an electric roof on these before, it can be done, just a bit stiff.
