Post by: Adz Gti on 30 September 2012, 11:10
ok so i walked into halfords `nd saw auto glym engine cleaner, picked it up, and read that after spraying over the engine bay and leaving it for a 1 or so you have to rinse it of with water  im pretty sure that water messes up petrol cars......doesn't it.

if anyone knows of any good cleaning products please state below as my bay looks like mr dirt has taken a massive sh*t all over it

cheers guys

there is an engine bay cleaning guide in the detailing FAQ section stickies...

i would recommend a product like Autosmart G101 for this and many other uses... you could then dress the engine bay with something like Autosmart Finish

I've recently used Meguiars engine dressing and its given the bay quite a nice long lasting look. But tbh the engine bay wasn't really dirty more just dusty so I used the blow function on my car vacuum and just blasted it all off.
