Hi
Hoping for a bit of help if I can. Low beam has been flicking on & off. Seems the lamp isn't making a solid connection to the metal housing. The wire clip holding it in is loose and doesn't hold tightly. Had a mechanic look at it but he seems to think something is missing. I'm going to take off the unit to get proper access & see if I can find a replacement, maybe for both sides as they look similar. Wondered if anybody has any images of the rear so that I can see exactly how the lamp sits and if I have a missing part.
Cheers
Andy

Its just a spring clip that holds the bulb in place, that's probably whats loose.
The way the headlights work is that the body of the bulb earths against its metal housing; you'll see a brown cable connected to the housing which is the earth.
You can just bend the metal clips back into shape.
If you still haven't sorted it, I've got a spare set of headlights in the shed I can photo later.

May sound daft but is the clip on the right way round? I spent 5 minutes confused the other day as it seemed the only way the clip would fit, wasn't holding the bulb in tight. Flipped it round and now it's in tight.

Yeah, the clip is right. I know that as I spent ages flipping it round and back again deciding on it was right...the clip sits in a slot at the bottom which isn't tight, so the clip is falling out. Tried a bit of blu tac to try holding it as a test but can't get it working. Going to take it off the car tomorrow & see what I can do as it's a tight spot hey? Back's killing me!!
Cheers for the info BTW...

Well took the unit out, sorted out the clip situation & still not working...whilst it was out, I connected the nearside lamp unit's loom & low beam cable onto this. Still not working, so something not right somewhere with the unit. Need another unit possibly??
