ive got the glow plug light flashing and 'engine workshop' sign up on the dash on a 98 110 tdi ...
so i change the brake light switch (being the common fault with these symptoms) but no change, the car was starting fine not missing a beat at all just has no power like its in limp mode,
any ideas???

Got vagcom? Plug it in and get it scanned that will give you at least a starting point... :undecided:
-
i allready have its not giving any fault codes
-
Check the brake light bulbs Had the same fault and it was down to one of the side brake light bulbs sorting out
so check those first
-
i checked the bulbs at the same time as changing the brake switch :/

right little update, i have now got the glow plug light to stop flashing it turned out to be the fuel pump so that was changed today along with the injectors, but the car is still down on power and has white smoke coming out of the exhaust still aswell so its over fueling but i cant figure out why :/ im thinking maybe its skipped a tooth on the timing belt? any other ideas??
