Title: when will I see OEL service on the display?
Post by: kodkod.84 on 26 September 2012, 18:16
Hi I got the Golf fully serviced shortly after I bought it in March 2012 (cambelt/waterpump/aircon/oil change) at 93,000 miles. I reset all the indicators back to 0.

Now approaching 104,000 miles will I expect the OEL light to come on, or is it yearly interval? Is there a way to check distance/time left to service schedules?

105,000 I'd suspect.

Can't you set the service interval parameters anyway?

Not europarts unless you want to end up with a cooker hood filter and a bath plug...

Don`t buy parts that are not genuine, today I went out to buy a water pump and I`m taking it back to the parts guy tomorrow morning, when I opened the box I was like is this a joke.
The bearing was half the size the propeller was smaller and the metal looks as if it would snap in two by just taping it,no wonder it was only 25 euro,I`m not going to try and save money again its original or nothing

I'm sure other people are happy with them but i've had three seperate orders go wrong with them now and spent quite a bit of money, today was the final straw when they refused to accept that a mk3 gti uses h1 bulbs not h4 and then tried to charge me and extra fiver to swap them...no.no.no....i'll use GSF from now on.

Better to do the service at yearly intervals instead of mileage.

Thats not right, if you do more than 10,000 miles in less than a year 1N01 will come up and you do the service then, but if you don`t do the 10,000 miles in a year you do do the service all the same.
Same goes for the 1NO2 interval display.
